Do the school have job opportunities where the freshmens can work and earn an income while working on their major instead of the money going just towards books or tuition?

There are work opportunities at Francis Marion for students who are interested in making a few extra bucks during the week. This is our work-study program; it employs many students all over our campus. To find out if you are eligible you'll need to fill out the FAFSA and have your information sent to FMU. Students can work as many as 20 hours a week at about 7 dollars an hour. Of course there are limited positions; not every FMU student is afforded this luxury.
