South Carolina Residents

Francis Marion offers entering freshmen some great scholarship opportunities. Of course, if you qualify, you’ll receive state scholarships like Palmetto Fellows, LIFE, and HOPE. In addition, you could also qualify for FMU Honors. Here’s how to apply. You must be admitted to the university and complete a scholarship application by the February 1, 2008. Scholarship awards are based on High School GPA and SAT or ACT scores. Although the exact requirements change with each class, a 3.5 GPA and 1100 SAT (Critical Reading and Math only) or 24 ACT should make you eligible for a scholarship at FMU.  We’ll make award decisions shortly thereafter.  Apply Now.

Out-of-State Students

If you have at least an 1100 on the SAT or a 24 on the ACT and a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.25, you could qualify for in-state tuition. That’s right! To find out if you are eligible you must be accepted to FMU and complete and return your scholarship application by February 1, 2008.  If you qualify for any FMU awarded scholarship of $500 or more, the out of state portion of your tuition will be covered, a savings of over $6,500 each year! Your tuition will be $3,401.50 per semester. When you add room and board, your per semester cost is just $6,331.50.  Any way you cut it, it’s a great deal.
